MAP AND SATELLITE SCANNING

Cartography shares common attitudes with technology: the same will to fix the past and use it as a leaping point to delve into the future, the same attitude to explorate the unknown hoping to shape the new. This is why we decided to use cartography in our designs, choosing the most advanced method to map making: satellite scanning. So a city map seen from the sky become and intriguing decoration pattern, as well the 3d reconstruction of a coastal profile turns into a mesmerizing sculpture, reconstructing the moon surface is yet another witness of our desire to explorate original forms. Shaping terrain reconstruction into sculptures gives you the same kaleidoscopic and subtle details offered by a baroque sculpture, where you can literally lose yourself. Playing with scale, turning the macroscopic into microscpic and viceversa we design and sculpt imagining to depict and adventurous journey where imagination runs free.
